Rising Hip-Hop/Rap and R&B/Soul star Daz Payne crafts a catchy single that collides two worlds. Merging Trap and R&B with his smooth and soulful vocals, 'Rich Boy Trap' is an undeniable anthem — an exciting marker of things yet to come from the confident Los Angeles-based breakthrough artist. Originally from Fort Worth, Texas, Payne initially set his sights on playing in the NFL. He played cornerback for Army at West Point (USMA) until a devastating knee injury and the sudden death of his father saw him transfer to the University of Houston and ultimately ended his football career. The experience unlocked his new life mission: to become the world’s biggest superstar. "I always felt I had a special talent for making music," the rapper says. "God gave me a gift that I wasn't using at all. My father's passing was like a wake up call, I couldn't waste another moment." Hungry to kick start his artistic career, but steadfast on fulfilling a promise to his mother to graduate college, Payne took time to master rapping, cadence, flow, and melodies throughout the remainder of his academic eligibility. “Those years and those experiences made me the man I am today,” the rapper says. “Self made. A King. Period.” Daz Payne collaborates regularly with Justin Hernandez (@justheengineer), his engineer, and producer THC.BLAZE (@blazeondabeatz) of The Hit Cartel, and records primarily at Street Execs Studio in Atlanta, GA, owned by rapper 2 Chainz.
